Daiana Ruiz is a visual artist, illustrator, and occasional Vj based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Her work is based on digital illustration and loop animations as a result of new means of visual representation. Through the use of current tools, she brings to her universe new formats like GIF and animated illustration.
In the last year she has explored new techniques like Chinese ink paintings on large paper rolls and canvas.
She participated in different courses and workshops with several artists and illustrators such as Daniel Leber, María Luque, Diana Aisenberg, Andrés Sobrino and Sebastián Bruno.
She participated in the event Night Light, which took place in Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
In 2016 her illustrations and animations have been exhibited in Buenos Aires (Atocha Galería), Lille in France (Espacé Le Carré), Turin in Italy (The GIFFER Festival), among others.
In 2017 she has been invited to exhibit her work in FILE GIF, Fiesp Cultural Center (São Paulo, Brazil), Media Art Lab (Los Angeles, USA), Lo-Fi II Local(Capital Federal, Argentina), Casa Rodolfo Walsh - Pasaje Extra (Capital Federal, Argentina), Ansia Gallery (La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina).
In 2018 her work has been exhibited in FAMAF - Facultad de Matemática, Astronomía y Física (Cordoba, Argentina). In 2019 she has been invited to exhibit her work in Alliance Française de Buenos Aires. She also participated in the LAD Festival giving a conference and a workshop.
Her work has been featured by print and digital media such as Juxtapoz Magazine, It’s Nice that, Sukeban Magazine, Good2be journal, TAF Magazine, MARMOL, Design Sponge, We Present, Wrap Magazine, etc.
Among her clients there are different companies such as The NY Times, New Yorker magazine, Apple, Netflix, British Vogue, Le Temps, Lenny Letter, NYLON magazine, Rolling Stone Ar magazine, Mtv International, Ok Cupid, Vice, GIPHY Studios, among others.
